Functions & Responsibilities:

  • Assists International Sales Manager in preparing marketing, sales and distribution programs for various Asian markets.
  • Maintains regular and continuous verbal and written contact with District Exchanges, exporters, overseas customers and steamship companies.
  • Analyzes sales data and project availability and future sales. Continuously maintain intimate knowledge of marketing, sales and distribution conditions in markets of responsibility.
  • Provides customers with an understanding of the Sunkist export “system” and structure.
  • Provides customers with updated details of crop and harvest situations.
  • Secures fruit for customers.
  • Develops an understanding of shipping schedules in relation to customers’ arrival needs and costs.
  • Participates when necessary in various meetings and presentations, both internal and external.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Contacts with Others:

Internal contact with Transportation, Domestic Marketing and Field Departments. External contact with District Exchanges, exporters, steamship lines, packinghouse managers and international customers.

Education Requirements:

Bachelor Degree in Agriculture, Business and/or Marketing or a related field or equivalent.

Experience Requirements:

  • Two years’ experience in conducting business in foreign markets, particularly Asia.
  • Bilingual verbal and written ability (English & Japanese) preferable, but not required.
  • Good understanding and capability in Microsoft Office functions, such as Excel and Word.
  • Free to travel internationally away from home for periods probably not to exceed two weeks at any one time.
  • Must possess a valid unrestricted driver’s license.

Senior Quality Assurance Specialist - 15011

Functions & Responsibilities:

  • Maintains the Sunkist licensee sample program, ensuring all licensees send in samples as per schedule. Arrange samples to be tested to verify that the licensee is producing within Sunkist standards.
  • Analyzes testing results on product and ingredient samples.
  • Maintains the QA laboratory in good order.
  • Sets up taste panel evaluations as required by licensees and Operations. Documents all results.
  • Manages and maintains all specification documents, audit forms, QA manuals, ERP manuals up-to-dated in our technical systems.
  • Requires strong research skill in latest food safety, government regulatory requirement and product development trends.
  • Audits licensee plants and co-packer plants as necessary. Follow up on any failing or non-compliance findings.
  • Assists licensees with technical issues as required by the director.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned by Director, Technical Services.

    TO BE CONSIDERED FOR THIS POSITION, YOU MUST HAVE A FOOD SAFETY OR FOOD SCIENCE BACKGROUND AND/OR TRAINING.

Contacts with Others:

Trademark Licensing Department, Patent and Trademark Law Counsel, Sales and Marketing Staff, Licensees, Industrial Manufacturers and Vendors.

Education Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Food Science or related field; or equivalent. An Associate’s Degree in a related field with a minimum 5 years’ experience in a food processing environment will also be considered.

Experience Requirements:

  • Experience in a food processing environment with strong understanding of food safety and product quality systems.
  • Experience with HACCP & in conducting plant audit
  • Demonstrated good customer-focused, interpersonal relationships skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate both verbally and in writing.
  • Knowledge of federal and state food industry regulations desired.
  • Must be computer literate, using Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Familiarity with lab safety and handling of hazardous materials.
  • May require occasional travel.
