Functions & Responsibilities:

  • The Vice President and CFO reports directly to the Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer. As a key member of the Executive Management team, the Chief Financial Officer assumes a strategic role in the overall management of the company. The CFO has primary day-to-day responsibility for planning, implementing, managing and controlling all financial related activities of the company. This includes direct responsibility for accounting, finance, forecasting, tax, deal analysis and negotiations, institutional financing, risk management and pension administration.

    Reporting directly to the Vice President Finance & CFO is a senior management team representing accounting, planning& budgeting and tax. There are approximately 22 exempt and non-exempt employees in these departments.


  • Provide leadership in the development for the continuous evaluation of short and long-term strategic financial objectives.
  • Assume key leadership role for process improvement initiatives (Lean Six Sigma).
  • Ensure credibility of Finance group by providing timely and accurate analysis of budgets, financial trends and forecasts.
  • Establish hands-on role in Company’s Sales Operations and Planning System replacement project.
  • Evaluate and advise on the impact of long range planning, introduction of new programs/ strategies.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with senior executives so as to identify their needs and seek full range of business solutions.
  • Provide executive management with advice on the financial implications of business activities.
  • Manage processes for financial forecasting, budgets and consolidation and reporting to the Company
  • Provide recommendations to strategically enhance financial performance and business opportunities.
  • Ensure that effective internal controls are in place and ensure compliance with GAAP and applicable federal, state and local regulatory laws and rules for financial and tax reporting.
  • Direct and oversee all aspects of the finance & accounting, tax and pension administration functions of the organization.
  • Other duties as assigned by Sunkist’s SVP & COO.

Contacts with Others:

Interacts with Executive Management team and the Sunkist Board of Directors.

Education Requirements:

BS in Accounting or Finance; or equivalent. MBA and/or CPA highly desirable.

Experience Requirements:

  • 15 years progressively responsible financial leadership roles.
  • Seasoned executive with an outstanding track record and reputation for his/her financial acumen, business judgment, quantitative analysis ability, leadership skills and integrity.
  • Experience as a senior financial executive in a mid-sized to large company with both domestic and international operations.
  • Business-minded Chief Financial Officer who is operationally focused and has the ability to be hands-on, working comfortably at all levels of the Company.
  • Proven leadership skills and the ability to respect the company’s heritage while at the same time driving initiatives that will enable Sunkist to be even more competitive in the future.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, ability to communicate and manage well at all levels of the organization.
  • A professional that is a great motivator, coach and leader of people at all levels of the organization. He/she must have a strong work ethic and possess great communication skills both orally and written.

Fresh Fruit Invoicing Coordinator - 15017

Functions & Responsibilities:

  • Performs daily Fresh Fruit Invoicing reconciliation.
  • Resolves errors/discrepancies encountered during reconciliation in a timely manner.
  • Processes claims and invoice corrections on domestic sales orders.
  • Processes invoicing for Domestic Sales orders and mail invoices to customers.
  • Maintains customer master file on both Kirkey and NAV systems.
  • Verifies processed debit and credit memos
  • Schedules Nightly Invoice and Account Sales processing.
  • Schedules Shipper Payment processing
  • Updates inventory item codes in NAV
  • Assists sales offices, shippers, Claim Desk on question needing resolution.
  • Directs the work activities of Fresh Fruit Invoicing clerks in the absence of the department manager.
  • Assists department manager with year-end close.
  • Performs various other accounting projects as assigned.

Contacts with Others:

Works closely with District Exchanges, Packinghouses and District Sales Offices.

Education Requirements:

High school graduate with satisfactory completion of eight college semester units in accounting, or equivalent.

Experience Requirements:

  • Two years’ experience of increased complexity in Fresh Fruit Invoicing or general accounting equivalent.
  • Must possess strong computer skills with above average skills in Word and Excel. Large ERP system environments experience a plus.
  • Excellent data entry skills a must.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Must be flexible and self-starting.

Marketing Coordinator - 15015

Functions & Responsibilities:

  • Assist with planning and logistics for industry tradeshows including managing hotel arrangements for up to 100 attendees, badge entry/allocation, material planning and acquisition, on-site set-up, and other administrative and organizational duties as needed.
  • Maintain many aspects of the Sunkist online store including: keeping site current with item updates, inventory management, monitoring fulfillment, premium sourcing, weekly/monthly shipping and billing reports.
  • Assist with creative development of marketing and promotional material including research, photo shoots, copy writing, proofreading, and coordinating with outside vendors.
  • Assist with the development and implementation of retail marketing promotions and programs utilizing social media, digital technologies, coupons, in-store promotions, and point-of-sale material.
  • Track weekly/monthly coupon redemption and create new coupons as needed.
  • Maintain retail/other marketing budgets by assigning codes, processing and recording invoices, and preparing monthly reconciliation to the Microsoft Dynamics NAV accounting system.
  • General administrative duties including maintaining department files, development of presentations, travel arrangements, meeting planning, expense reports, and fielding customer service and sales requests for appropriate routing.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Contacts with Others:

Internal contact with all levels of employees in Marketing, Sales and Finance. External contact with creative agencies and vendors.

Education Requirements:

Bachelor Degree in a marketing or business related field or equivalent work experience.

Experience Requirements:

  • 1-2 years of work experience in an administrative or coordinator position, preferably within a marketing department or agency
  • Prefer experience with budgeting and invoice processing or a willingness to learn
  • Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word and PowerPoint a must!)
  • Must be pro-active, organized with excellent attention to detail, and a positive “can-do” attitude
  • Ability to multitask and juggle many ongoing projects simultaneously
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Able to work independently
  • Occasional travel (Up to 15%)

Senior Quality Assurance Specialist - 15011

Functions & Responsibilities:

  • Maintains the Sunkist licensee sample program, ensuring all licensees send in samples as per schedule. Arrange samples to be tested to verify that the licensee is producing within Sunkist standards.
  • Analyzes testing results on product and ingredient samples.
  • Maintains the QA laboratory in good order.
  • Sets up taste panel evaluations as required by licensees and Operations. Documents all results.
  • Manages and maintains all specification documents, audit forms, QA manuals, ERP manuals up-to-dated in our technical systems.
  • Requires strong research skill in latest food safety, government regulatory requirement and product development trends.
  • Audits licensee plants and co-packer plants as necessary. Follow up on any failing or non-compliance findings.
  • Assists licensees with technical issues as required by the director.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned by Director, Technical Services.

  • Experience in a food processing environment with strong understanding of food safety and product quality systems.
  • Experience with HACCP & in conducting plant audit
  • Demonstrated good customer-focused, interpersonal relationships skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate both verbally and in writing.
  • Knowledge of federal and state food industry regulations desired.
