Functions & Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for implementing strategies to increase efficiency, maintain quality, and ensure continuous improvement of production, and sanitation process and procedures.
  • Lead production team in creating a work environment which reflects a commitment to employee safety, product quality, food safety, and positive employee relations.

Education Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Management, Business Administration, Food Engineering, Food Science or equivalent.

Experience Requirements:

  • Eight years of progressively responsible experience managing a complex manufacturing facility, preferably in citrus processing or food manufacturing.
  • Work experience in a collective bargained environment a plus.

Functions & Responsibilities:

  • Primary responsibility of this position is to process and maintain a variety of personnel forms to hire, promote, transfer and separate hourly employees in the Tipton facility.
  • Utilizes automated HR/Payroll system and maintains integrity of hourly employee data.
  • Performs a variety of technical tasks related to the general HR function.
  • Assists in the preparation of documents to request personnel activity, obtain proper authorization and accurately maintain records.
  • Processes new hire, promotion, transfer and separation transactions in an automated HR/Payroll environment forwarding requisite document to corporate office.
  • In conjunction with plant management personnel, manages the hourly job posting program in accordance with contractual obligations.

  • Maintains accurate records of employee health and welfare elections and insures timely enrollment into benefit plans. Processes monthly premium payments to the Trust.
  • Maintains seniority information and disseminates to plant personnel and Union representatives.
  • Serve as the initial contact person for requests for leaves under FMLA/CFRA/PDL and assists in compliance with ADA.
  • Ensures that current applicable employment laws, regulations and contract requirements are met.
  • Handles administrative matters for the division's training programs.
  • Handles various administrative matters for the salaried workforce in concert with the corporate HR staff.

Functions & Responsibilities:

  • Under the general direction of the Director, Domestic Sales, is responsible for the marketing of organic varieties. This includes establishing prices and weekly movement schedules.
  • Is responsible for the preparation of offers and daily movement of inventories to be coordinated between Exchanges and Sales Offices. Maintains close communication with district exchanges, varietal management desk, regional directors and strategic account managers for the purpose of marketing opportunities and/or problems for organic varieties.
  • Maintain current knowledge of the competitive situation in the market place. Makes analysis of sales and supply information so that pricing and supply decisions can be made.
  • Provide analytical reports to management including gathering of data and the preparation of sales reports and demand forecasts. Responsible for creating reports on sales, supply, demand, key competitor activity, “what if” scenarios, and others. Collation of information from internal and external teams that is required for marketing activity.
  • Responsible for keeping abreast of business situation for pre-determined projects and activities.
  • Responsible for developing annual sales and marketing plans ensuring they deliver overall category and business objectives.
  • Monitors all aspects of distribution including sales activity, field production, packing, warehousing, and inventory management, market conditions and competitive pricing.
  • Responsible for all administrative matters pertaining to the Varietal Management functions, exercising discretion and independent judgment.

Education Requirements:

Experience Requirements:

  • Minimum of three years related management experience in sales of organic varieties preferred.
  • Thorough knowledge of all financial components of product and marketing management, including product contribution margins, cost structure, profit and loss statements, budget processes, and return on investment calculations.
  • Working knowledge of marketing functions.
  • Must be highly proficient in PC particularly excel, access, and power point and power play applications and have the ability to prepare speeches, presentations, and other materials for a high executive level.

  • In a team environment within RTS and the Design/Engineering team, the Senior Mechanical Engineer makes necessary calculations using engineering principles to design and develop equipment as it relates to fruit sorting, processing, quality control and packaging.

  • Assists in training sales personnel in the various sales offices in matters of citrus fruit quality.
  • Travels much of the time, being away from home on a regular basis for most of the week and for periods up to 3 weeks.
  • Bi-lingual French a must.

Contacts with Others:

Regular contact with various District Sales offices and Sunkist Regional sales directors. Regular contact with customers. Occasional contact with packinghouse managers, Canadian federal inspectors, USDA inspectors, Sunkist inspectors and other Sunkist personnel in Sherman Oaks.

Education Requirements:

High school graduate with 2 years college level courses (60 units) in agriculture, business or related field; or equivalent.

Experience Requirements:

  • Five years applicable work experience.
  • Thorough understanding of Sunkist and Federal grade regulations and citrus fruit conditions which occur in transit.
  • Thorough knowledge of produce marketing routine. Ability to instruct Sunkist sales personnel and buyers in citrus fruit grades and conditions.
  • Must exercise discretion and diplomacy in working with buyers, shippers and office staff.
  • Must be firm in reporting accurate inspection findings. Must have valid unrestricted driver's license. Must be willing and able to lift cartons of citrus (approx. 45 lbs). Must be willing and able to travel and work varying hours. Ability to utilize various software programs in a PC environment.

  • Generation of Certificate of Analysis to send to Customers.

  • Designs and implements the development of electronic and software project elements of major complexity and scope pertaining to fresh fruit handling and inspection processing in packinghouses.
  • Develops new ideas and adapts new research principles and techniques for application to specific development program efforts.
  • Implements new or existing sensors into inspection systems such as cameras, load cells and lighting systems and controllers into automated handling systems including packaging machines.
  • Designs electronic Printed Circuit Boards (PCB) used for various control and sensing applications.

  • Designs electrical panels for 3 phase motor control systems.

  • Writes, edits and reviews technical, user, and service manuals. Maintains knowledge base including archives, drawings and documentation.
  • Assists patent attorneys in patent applications.

Education Requirements:

B.S. Degree in Electronic or Electrical Engineering. M.S. preferred. Additional training in sensors, optics, image processing, or automation desirable.

Experience Requirements:

  • Five years experience in digital/analog electronic design and algorithm development.
  • Experience with PCB board layout and routing software.
  • Experience in real-time applications development including image processing (vision), algorithms, motion, machine or sensor control.
  • Demonstrated multiple project management skills.
  • Experience in automation controls and 3 phase power distribution systems preferred.
  • Experience with Philips Trimedia DSP implementation and programming preferred.
  • Familiarity with RoHS certification preferred.
  • Domestic travel required. International travel possible.
  • Valid unrestricted driver's license.
