Citrus Ginger Sauce

  • 1 Sunkist® orange
  • 1 Sunkist grapefruit
  • 1 Sunkist tangerine
  • 1/3 cup Sunkist fresh-squeezed orange juice
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1 tablespoon butter or margarine
  • 3 thin slices Sunkist lemon, seeded and cut into 8ths
  • 3 tablespoons dark brown sugar, packed
  • ½ teaspoon ground ginger

Makes four 1/3-cup servings.

Wash, peel, seed and segment orange, grapefruit and tangerine, holding over bowl to catch juice. Place fruit in strainer to drain juice. Combine drained juice and orange juice with cornstarch until smooth, set aside.

In medium saucepan melt butter over medium heat. Stir in lemon pieces, brown sugar and ginger. Cook until bubbly, about 2 minutes. Mix in cornstarch/juice mixture. Stir, cooking until thick and clear; about 2 minutes. Remove from heat and gently stir in fruit. Serve warm or cool.

Tip: Delicious served over pancakes or waffles. For dessert ,serve over ice cream or pound cake.
