Make disappearing ink with lemon juice!
Squeeze a fresh lemon and use a watercolor brush to write a message on a piece of paper. After it has dried, hold the paper a few inches from a light bulb and your message will magically reappear.

Lemon juice can be used to bleach fabric!
Lay a leaf or cut-out shape on a scrap of dark cotton fabric. Squeeze lemon juice around the shape and set it in the sun for a few hours.

Save orange, lemon and grapefruit shells.
After you've eaten the insides, you can dry the halves in the sun. The peels will turn into leather-like little storage bowls.

With adult supervision, cut unpeeled citrus into 1/8-inch-thick slices, discard the ends, and place on a wire rack on a baking sheet. Dry in the oven at 170ºF for 4 hours. Remove from oven and leave on rack to air dry. String the slices on twine for a festive garland.

You can make scented pomander balls by poking holes in lemons and oranges with a nail, sticking whole cloves in the holes and rolling the fruit in a mixture of cinnamon and orris root powder.

Squeeze the juice of a lemon into a clean spray bottle and fill it with water. Keep it in the refrigerator and give yourself a refreshing citrus spritz on hot, sticky summer days.

Make your own wrapping paper!
Use plain newsprint and slices of citrus as stamps. Cut citrus in half crosswise, blot on a paper towel and then press onto different colored ink pads. Have fun stamping interesting designs onto the paper."
