Atlanta, GA, November 2005…To the retailer and the consumer, Sunkist is one of the most recognized and respected brands in the world -- a name that delivers the very best in fresh taste and natural goodness and adds excitement to the shopping experience.

And now, to enhance the quality, value and brand awareness of Sunkist fresh citrus, Sunkist packaging is undergoing a "makeover."

In 2006 Sunkist packaging will enhance its use of appetizing close-up photography of citrus varieties reflecting the energizing enjoyment of the Sunkist fresh citrus sensation and adding color and excitement to the produce department. And, all Sunkist packaging will continue to reflect country of origin.

Sunkist's new consumer-focus packaging – cartons, bags, bins and display masters – are carefully and creatively designed to meet the merchandising, display, and selling needs of retailer and foodservice customers as well as to increase efficiencies in handling and transportation.

Sunkist focus on new consumer-oriented packaging includes: bags and clamshells for consumer convenience; gift boxes for special occasions; promotional-themed packaging designed with families with kids in mind, as well as packaging that makes it easy for the retailer to create exciting displays that draw in the shopper. The dynamic packaging will also showcase some of Sunkist's newer citrus varieties in ways that entice and educate consumers about these less familiar taste sensations.

Most importantly, Sunkist's goal is to stimulate the "senses" that are uniquely citrus. Using carefully developed photography and graphics, the new designs communicate great taste, purity and quality.

"We want to bring out the great citrus sensation in our packaging," says Sunkist's Vice President of Marketing Robert Verloop. "This process started with understanding the consumer and building up from there. We buy with our eyes so our packaging is designed to bring out the natural goodness of Sunkist citrus."

To further emphasize the high quality reputation of Sunkist fresh citrus, the new Sunkist packaging will also prominently display the Sunkist Brand Promise…from more than 6,000 growers in the Sunkist family:
