As Bartenders across the U.S. Vie to be Crowned Creator of the “Sexiest Citrus Drink,” Sunkist Calls on Consumers to Pick Their Main Squeeze

(March 04, 2005) – Sunkist Growers is adding a twist of citrus flavor to the nightlife of U.S. cities this month by challenging bartenders at hot spots to invent their own refreshing cocktails featuring fresh-squeezed citrus as the signature ingredient. Bartenders from carefully selected hip bars and restaurants from the east to west coasts – including Los Angeles’ touted Yi Cuisine and New York’s stylish Glass Lounge – are competing to blend the best Sunkist Sexy Citrus Drink to win $5,000 and national bragging rights for creating incomparable citrus refreshment cool enough to heat up the night.

The call is out to those who are ready to invigorate their martinis and give their cosmopolitans a kick with the fresh, intense flavors of fresh-squeezed Sunkist premium citrus such as sweet navel oranges, zesty grapefruits and tangy lemons. Adding to the excitement, Sunkist is letting consumers select the winning entry by posting pictures and recipes of these tempting beverages bursting with the benefits of citrus online at Consumers 21 years and older are challenged to vote for the most tantalizing drink ripe with creativity after making and sampling them at home or at their local hot spot.
