Sunkist Gears Up For Summer Safari Fun When The "Rugrats Go Wild"

(May 12, 2003) - As the Rugrats and the Wild Thornberrys pack their bags for a summer adventure in their upcoming movie "Rugrats Go Wild," Sunkist Growers is teaming up with the Paramount Pictures release to offer fans their own exciting journey. Starting May 12, adventurous fans can juice up their summer plans with the chance to win a $20,000 (USD) Summer Safari family vacation of their choice.¹

To kick off the promotion, produce sections across the country will be energized with eye-catching "Rugrats Go Wild" graphics on limited edition bags of Sunkist-marketed citrus. Each bag will include one of six collectable "Rugrats Go Wild" trading cards highlighting fun facts about citrus, educational activities and kid-friendly recipes that the whole family can enjoy.

Inserts in specially-marked bags will feature the Sunkist Summer Safari Sweepstakes in which one lucky family will win up to $15,000 (USD) to use in creating the ultimate summer family adventure, plus $5,000 (USD) cash to spend on the trip. The possibilities of a dream adventure are endless as families can plan together to select their final destination. Twenty-five first prize winners will receive Sunkist Safari Packs, and 50 second prize winners will receive sets of two Rugrats and one Wild Thornberrys videos.

Supporting the promotion will be point-of-sale materials, including colorful bin wraps featuring the Rugrats and Wild Thornberrys characters in addition to the limited-edition bags. The idea of adventure drives the theme of this summer's release of "Rugrats Go Wild". The film brings together the colorful characters from two of Nickelodeon's Emmy-nominated TV series, "Rugrats" and "The Wild Thornberrys." Audiences get to hear the first words ever spoken by the Rugrats' beloved dog Spike, and Tommy Pickles has the chance to meet his real life hero, Nigel Thornberry, when the Rugrats are marooned on a deserted island. Shipwrecked without cell phones or cookies, the Rugrats encounter lizards, leopards and bug-eating plants, not to mention the wildest discovery of all -- the Thornberrys!
