Sunkist Partnership with Sesame Workshop Recognized as Part of 2005 "Best Co-Branding Strategy"

Teamwork Praised for Promoting Better Snacking Habits

March 22, 2006

SHERMAN OAKS, CA (March 2, 2006) – Underscoring their ongoing commitment to promoting healthy eating habits for children, Sunkist Growers announced today that their brand partnership with Sesame Workshop, the nonprofit educational organization behind Sesame Street, was honored by License Magazine as one of the Best Co-Branding Strategies of 2005. Working together, Sunkist and Sesame Workshop are successfully making inroads in promoting healthy eating habits among kids, in particular highlighting the nutritious benefits of delicious citrus fruit this season.

“Our partnership with Sesame Street has been a win-win for all,” said Robert Verloop, Vice President of Marketing, Sunkist Growers. “The friendly faces from Sesame Street on our packaging and bins have added excitement to our displays and helped encourage families to make healthy snacking choices.

The Sunkist partnership is part of Sesame Workshop’s “Healthy Habits for Life” initiative, designed to address the importance of establishing an early foundation of healthy habits. Through March 31, 2006, colorful bins and displays featuring Elmo, Big Bird, Cookie Monster and Zoe will be showcased in the produce section of major grocery stores, inviting moms to take home a bag of fresh citrus and enter a sweepstakes for a chance to win a trip to Beaches Resort.

This teamwork with Sesame Workshop is just one example of how Sunkist is promoting eating fresh fruit as a healthy snack alternative.
