Moist and memorable, everyone will love this! Easy Fresh Orange Cake is a delicious yellow cake loaded with citrus flavor baked right in then topped off with a wonderful orange zest filled cream cheese frosting.


  • 1 package (15.25 oz.) yellow cake mix
  • 1 cup freshly squeezed Sunkist® orange juice
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 2 tsp. finely grated Sunkist® orange zest

  • Orange Cream Cheese Frosting:
  • 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 package (8 oz.) cream cheese, softened
  • 2 Tbsp. freshly squeezed Sunkist® orange juice
  • 1 Tbsp. finely grated Sunkist® orange zest
  • 4 cups (1 lb.) powdered sugar, sifted

  • Preparation: Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease one 13 x 9 x 2 inch baking pan.

Instructions: (Makes 12 servings)

  • Combine cake mix, orange juice, eggs, oil and orange zest in large mixing bowl. With an electric mixer blend until moistened, beat on low speed for 30 seconds then on medium speed for 2 minutes. Pour batter into prepared baking pan.
  • Bake for 25 to 32 minutes or until wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool in pan on wire rack for 10 minutes, remove to wire rack to cool completely.
  • Place butter, cream cheese, orange juice and orange zest in medium mixing bowl, using an electric mixer beat until light and fluffy. Gradually beat in powdered sugar.
  • Frost cake with Orange Cream Cheese frosting, decorating with orange segments if desired.
