Fish tacos have grown in popularity over the last few years since fish is an important element of a healthy diet which includes cutting down on salt. This Sunkist S’alternativeTM recipe uses lemon to take the place of added salt. Kiss of Lemon Fish Tacos combined with other scrumptious ingredients then wrapped in a warm corn tortilla makes a quick and tasty meal!


  • 1/2 cup plain nonfat Greek yogurt
  • 2 Sunkist® lemons, grated peel and juiced (divided)
  • 1 Tbsp. honey
  • 1 tsp. caraway seeds
  • 1/2 tsp. freshly ground black pepper (to taste)
  • 2 cups finely shredded red and/or green cabbage
  • 1 lb. halibut filet (1/2" to 3/4" thick, skinned and cut into 4 portions)
  • 1 tsp. chili powder
  • 8 - 6 inch corn tortillas
  • 4 Tbsp. chopped fresh cilantro
  • 1 Sunkist® lemon, cut into wedges (for garnish)

  • Preparation: Preheat broiler.

Instructions: (Makes 4 servings)

  • Combine yogurt, lemon zest, juice from 1 lemon, honey, caraway seeds, and pepper in medium bowl mixing until smooth. Stir in cabbage and set aside.
  • Rub both sides of fish with remaining lemon zest and juice from 1 lemon, place on broiler pan coated with non stick cooking spray. Sprinkle on the chili powder.
  • Broil about 4 inches from the heat for 5 to 7 minutes per side or until fish is cooked through, (flakes easily with a fork). When done transfer fish to a platter and separate into large chunks.
  • Heat tortillas according to package directions. Place about 1/4 cup of coleslaw down the center of each warmed tortilla, divide fish equally among each. Top with cilantro and serve immediately with a wedge of lemon.
