So easy to make and sure to impress, Orange Fiore di Latte is a light and flavorful delight served with caramelized oranges!

Ingredients:

  • 2 medium sized Sunkist® Navel Oranges
  • 1 cup fresh ricotta cheese
  • 1 cup crème fraîche or sour cream - as needed for garnish
  • ¼ cup + 1 1/2 tablespoons sugar
  • 4 sprigs of fresh mint

Instructions: (Makes 4 servings)

  • Zest one orange into a medium-sized mixing bowl. Add 1 ½ tablespoons sugar, ricotta cheese and the crème fraîche and whip together. Keep chilled.
  • Using a sharp paring knife, remove the skin and pith from the oranges to expose the flesh. Slice the oranges horizontally into approximately six even wheels, ¼ inch thick. Lay the orange wheels out onto a flameproof work surface and coat generously with sugar. Caramelize the oranges with a torch until nicely browned.
  • In the center of four plates, place one caramelized orange wheel. Top each wheel with a dollop of the fiore di latte and top each dollop with another wheel off to one side.
  • Continue this process once more finishing with last of the orange wheels. Garnish each dish with a sprig of fresh mint.
