  • 6 pork chops, (about 2 lbs.) cut 1/2 inch thick
  • 2 Tbsp. shortening
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 2 Tbsp. butter or margarine
  • 1/2 tsp. poultry seasoning
  • 1 cup raw regular rice
  • 1 can condensed chicken broth
  • 1/3 cup water
  • 1 Sunkist® tangerine, grated zest
  • 3 Sunkist® tangerines, peeled, segmented, seeded
  • 1/3 cup walnut halves

Instructions: (Makes 6 servings)

  • In large skillet, thoroughly brown chops in shortening, remove. Pour off fat. In same skillet sauté onion in butter with poultry seasoning. Add rice, chicken broth and water, bring to boil. Reduce heat. Arrange chops over rice, cover and cook over low heat for 30 minutes or until chops are done and liquid is absorbed. Remove chops, keep warm. Gently stir tangerine zest, segments and nuts into rice mixture, heat.
