This compote is very versatile, Sunkist Moro Oranges and Strawberry Compote can be served with ice cream, pound cake, waffles with whipped cream, or Crêpes. Let your imagination run wild!

Ingredients:

  • 6 Sunkist® Moro oranges, peeled and segmented
  • 1/3 cup sugar
  • Juice of one Sunkist® orange*
  • 2 Tbsp. pure maple syrup
  • 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1/8 tsp. salt
  • 2 cups strawberries, hulled and sliced (approx. 1 pint)

Instructions: (Makes 4 servings)

  • Combine orange segments, sugar, orange juice, syrup, cinnamon and salt in a saucepan. Bring to a boil and add strawberries. Adjust heat to low and continue cooking for 5 minutes.
  • Pour mixture into bowl and let cool at room temperature for 10 to 15 minutes.
  • Serve with a scoop of vanilla ice cream and/or a slice of pound cake.
  • Refrigerate unused portion, covered, for up to one week.

    *Use Sunkist Navel, Valencia or Cara Cara oranges
