Turkey burgers topped with an orange relish create the ultimate comfort food that also happens to be good for you. Turkey Sliders with Sunkist Orange Relish uses ground turkey which is very lean, and the relish adds essential nutrients like vitamin C. A slice of orange on the sliders adds beautiful color and a zesty, fresh flavor.


  • 1 Sunkist® orange cut into quarters
  • 1/2 cup dried cranberries
  • 1 Tbsp. lemon juice
  • 1 Tbsp. sugar
  • 1 tsp. minced jalapeno (optional)
  • 20 oz. ground turkey
  • 2 Tbsp. shallot, finely minced
  • 1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 tsp. finely ground black pepper
  • 8 pieces whole wheat mini buns or dinner rolls, cut in half, toasted
  • 1 Sunkist® orange peeled and cut into 8 slices
  • 1 round bibb or butter lettuce, torn into pieces
  • 1/2 cup orange cranberry relish
  • 4 oz. havarti cheese (optional)

Instructions: (Makes 4 servings)

  • Prepare the relish by combining quartered orange, cranberries, lemon juice, sugar and jalapeno in a food processor and process until well combined. If the relish is too thick, add a few teaspoons water to thin it to desired consistency.
  • Prepare the turkey burgers by combining the ground turkey, shallot, Worcestershire sauce, and pepper in a mixing bowl. Use your hands to mix well and form into 8 small patties about ½-inch thick. The patties can be grilled or cooked on the stove in a non-stick pan over medium-high heat for 5 minutes per side. If you want to add cheese, add a ½ oz slice of havarti when the burgers have about 1 minute left to cook. Covering the pan helps the cheese melt faster.
  • To assemble the sliders, place a turkey patty on each bun, top with a tablespoon of relish, a slice of orange, a few lettuce leaves, and the top bun.
