Before you pack up this weekend's picnic, remember these important food safety tips:
- Always wash your hands before preparing or eating food.
- Cook hamburgers until the middle is 160 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Keep hot food hot and cold food cold and don't leave food out for more than two hours, less time if the temperature is high.
- Keep raw meat, poultry and fish away from cooked foods.
- Package leftovers to maximize safety or else throw them out.
Keep your picnic fun by getting some extra physical activity. Take a walk, play a game of catch or roller blade together.
