Zesty Melon Marga’veza

  • zest of 2 Sunkist® limes (zest before squeezing for juice)
  • 3 cups silver tequila
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup water
  • 1.5 cups freshly-squeezed Sunkist lime juice
  • 1 cup freshly-squeezed Sunkist orange juice
  • 1 cup cranberry juice
  • 2 cups diced fresh watermelon
  • pinch of kosher or sea salt
  • 2 (12 ounce) bottles light lager beer, chilled
  • fresh watermelon wedges and Sunkist lime wheels for garnish
  1. Combine the lime zest, tequila, water, and sugar in a large container, such as a stainless steel stock pot or pitcher, then stir well until the sugar is completely dissolved.
  2. Add the juices, watermelon, and salt. Stir to combine, mashing up some of the watermelon to release some juice. (At this point you can refrigerate the punch for service up to 3 days in advance).
  3. When ready to serve add beer. Serve over ice and garnish with lime wheels and watermelon wedges.
