Different parts of the same fruit can taste different.

Is this hypothesis true? To find out, perform the following experiment:

  • One Sunkist orange (preferably navel)

  1. Peel the orange.
(Don't use a sharp knife without an adult's help!)
  2. Cut one slice across the stem end and then one across the blossom end.
  3. Taste them.

What did you notice about the taste? Is the hypothesis true? Record your observations in your notebook. Click here to compare your findings with those of other scientists.
