You will love this dish and so will your family and friends. Spicy Golden Jambalaya uses delicious tangerines, is easy to make all in one pot and delicious. It really hits the spot!


  • 1/2 lb. milk Italian sausage, cut in 1 inch pieces
  • 1/2 lb. ham, cubed (about 2 cups)
  • 1 large onion, chopped
  • 1 medium green bell pepper, chopped
  • 2 medium garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 tsp. chili powder
  • 1/4 tsp. thyme leaves, crushed
  • 1/8 tsp. pepper
  • 1/2 bay leaf, crushed
  • 1 can (about 16 oz.) tomatoes, undrained
  • 1 can (about 14 oz.) chicken broth
  • 1 cup raw regular rice
  • 1/2 to 1 lb. cooked shrimp
  • 1/2 tsp. freshly grated Sunkist® tangerine zest
  • 3 Sunkist® tangerines, peeled, segmented, seeded

Instructions: (Makes 6 servings)

  • In large saucepot, brown sausage well (about 10 minutes). To sausage and drippings add ham, onion, green pepper, garlic, chili powder, thyme, pepper and bay leaf. Sauté over medium heat until vegetables are just tender. Stir in tomatoes, chicken broth and rice, bring to boil. Reduce heat, cover and simmer 25 minutes or until rice is tender. Stir in shrimp, tangerine zest and segments, heat and servel
