CITRUS IS ALL ABOUT GROWING
AND HELPING YOUR FAMILY GROW, TOO
Now, we’re always big fans of the nutrition that citrus offers. And that’s especially true when it comes to how much it can support moms-to-be. Some of our favorite varieties (not that we play favorites – our moms taught us that was rude), contain this little thing called folate. It helps promote cell growth, which is key during pregnancy. You can find it in everything from oranges to Pummelos, and Minneola tangelos, too – giving you up to 80% of your daily folate intake.
Another way citrus is there for moms? It offers vitamin C, and lots of it. Not only does vitamin C keep your immune system going strong, it also helps you absorb iron (which is critical during pregnancy, especially if you’re on a plant-based diet).

And speaking of loading up on greens (or in this case, oranges), here’s another reason you’ll want to get your fair share of citrus: hydration. Staying hydrated is essential during pregnancy; it ensures you’re absorbing all the good stuff – nutrients, vitamins, you name it. Plus, it just keeps everything in your body running smoothly. So next time you grab a glass of water, we recommend pairing it with citrus (especially if it’s one of our juicier varieties, like Valencia oranges or Minneola tangelos). Or if you really want to treat yourself, a replenishing salad always does the trick.
