Dough ingredients

  • 4 cups flour, all purpose
  • 2 tbsp sugar​
  • 2 tsp salt
  • 1 cup warm water
  • 2.25 tsp Active Dry Yeast, mixed with 1 tsp of sugar
  • 0.25 cup olive oil, plus extra for greasing the pan
  • Zest and Juice of 1 Sunkist® Cara Cara orange

Toppings ingredients

  • 1 Sunkist® Cara Cara orange, thinly sliced​
  • 3 sprigs of rosemary
  • 1 tbsp coarse salt

Orange Infused Olive Oil ingredients

  • 1 Sunkist® Cara Cara orange
  • 0.5 cup olive oil​


  1. Add the flour, sugar, zest of 1 Sunkist® Cara Cara orange, and salt into a large bowl, set aside.
  2. In a small bowl or measuring cup, add the water and sprinkle the yeast and sugar mixture over the water, set aside until it proofs (doubles in size and become puffy).
  3. Once the yeast mixture has proofed, add it to the flour mixture along with the oil and Juice of 1 Sunkist® Cara Cara orange. ​
  4. Knead the dough by hand for approximately 10-15 minutes until a smooth dough ball form.
  5. Place the dough in a large oiled bowl, cover with plastic wrap and allow to rise in a warm draft free place until doubled in size.
  6. Once the dough has doubled in size, punch down to deflate it on a lightly floured surface (ex. kitchen counter).​
  7. Add a few tablespoons of oil to the bottom of a baking tray and set aside.
  8. Transfer the dough to the baking tray and flip it over to coat both sides with the olive oil
  9. Use your fingers to poke deep holes into the dough over the whole surface. Poke all the way down until you touch the baking tray.
  10. Loosely cover the dough with plastic wrap and leave in a warm spot to rise until doubled again.
  11. While the dough is rising prepare the infused olive oil. Use a knife to carefully slice the rind off of the Sunkist® Cara Cara orange. Place the rind and ½ cup of olive oil in a medium size pot. Heat on medium heat for 10-15 minutes or until the oil is fragrant and infused. Allow to cool and remove the rind.
  12. Preheat your oven to 400°F.
  13. Once the dough has risen, sprinkle the coarse salt over the dough. Arrange the thinly sliced Sunkist® Cara Cara orange over the dough and place a rosemary sprig under each slice to create a flower design (i.e. the sliced Sunkist® Cara Cara orange will be the flower top and the rosemary sprigs act as the stem). 
  14. Drizzle 1-2 tablespoon of the Sunkist® Cara Cara orange infused olive oil evenly over the top of the dough.
  15. Bake for approximately 20-25 minutes until crispy and light golden brown.
  16. Optional: drizzle with additional Sunkist® Cara Cara orange olive oil when it comes out of the oven for serving or serve on the side for dipping.
  17. Slice and serve warm. Enjoy!
